Frequently asked questions

Who is BatchProfit for?

BatchProfit is built for home bakers, cottage-food businesses, market vendors, caterers, pop-ups, and small food brands that make and price products in batches.

How does a receipt become a margin decision?

Scan a paper receipt or choose a receipt photo. BatchProfit recognizes text on your iPhone, proposes package prices, and shows every line for review. Nothing updates until you confirm it. Confirmed ingredient-price changes recalculate linked recipes and create a reprice alert only when the change matters.

Does Apple Intelligence change my prices?

No. On supported devices, Apple Intelligence may propose conservative matches between receipt descriptions and ingredients already in your price book. A deterministic matcher is used everywhere else. AI never performs the financial math and cannot silently save a price.

Does BatchProfit need an internet connection?

No connection is required for receipt recognition, recipe costing, margin decisions, or label drafting. Opening this support page or sending an email does require internet access. Apple Intelligence availability depends on your device and Apple Intelligence setup.

Where is my business data stored?

Recipes, ingredient prices, confirmed receipt records, alerts, and business-label fields are stored locally on your iPhone. BatchProfit has no account, server, or cloud synchronization. Deleting the app deletes its local data, so keep your original business records.

Does BatchProfit keep my receipt photos?

No. A captured or selected image is used during the active recognition and confirmation flow. BatchProfit saves the confirmed receipt details—not the source image—after you finish.

What costs can I include?

Recipe economics can include ingredients, labor time and hourly rate, packaging, overhead, waste, batch yield, and sale price. BatchProfit then shows cost per unit, profit per unit, current margin, and a target-margin price suggestion.

Are exported labels legally certified?

No. BatchProfit creates an editable 4 × 6 product-label draft from your recipe and business fields. Check the labeling rules that apply where you sell. BatchProfit does not provide legal or regulatory certification.

Privacy Policy

BatchProfit is designed so your recipes, supplier prices, receipts, and margins stay under your control.

Data Not Collected

The developer does not collect data from BatchProfit. There is no tracking, analytics, advertising, account, or third-party SDK.

On-device processing

Receipt text recognition, price matching, Apple Intelligence assistance when available, recipe calculations, margin analysis, and label composition happen on your iPhone. BatchProfit does not upload receipt images or business records.

Camera and Photos

Camera access is used only when you choose to scan a receipt. Photo access is used only when you choose a receipt image. Selected images are available to the active review flow and are not persisted by BatchProfit after confirmation.

Local records

SwiftData stores ingredients, recipes, confirmed receipt details, margin alerts, and label business fields inside the app’s local container. These records remain until you remove them or delete the app.

Your choices

You can edit or delete saved ingredients and recipes in the app, subject to safeguards that prevent breaking linked recipes. You can revoke Camera or Photos permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Apple Intelligence

When supported and enabled, Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework may suggest ingredient-name matches from the receipt text and your existing price book. The suggestion is validated and remains subject to your confirmation.

External communication

BatchProfit makes no app-network requests. If you open a support, privacy, or terms link, your browser handles that request. If you email support, the information you choose to send is processed by your email provider and received by the developer.

Children

BatchProfit is a business utility and is not directed to children. Because the app collects no data, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Policy changes

If the app’s data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before the new practice ships.
